Straight line. Interesting how so many people think that growth is a straight line forever going upwards. History demonstrates that everything goes in cycles. The rhythm of life also applies to the business cycle. What we are experiencing today, although somewhat worse than most of us have ever witnessed, is the natural result of overheating an economy and overspending by almost all parties to that economy. The challenge to all of us is to make the necessary adjustments not only in the way we run our businesses (that is, recreate and refocus your business) but also the way we run our personal lives. One has to treat your personal finances as a business and bring the costs into line with what are likely reduced incomes. Those who take advantage of these times to adjust appropriately will be very well positioned at whatever time the economy recovers and profits and incomes may rise once again. So do not hesitate, start this week to make those adjustments.
