Change. Over the past several weeks we have experienced more change in our economic system and in our institutions than the majority of us have ever seen in our lifetimes. Large financial institutions have failed or been taken over by others as the system works to cleanse itself of a lot of bad decisions taken by the so-called financial experts. Boom has effectively turned to bust! Looking back over the past five decades it seems to me that there is a pattern of a ten year cycle whereby the economy grows and then contracts. The dot com boom had many people thinking early retirement. This latest phase had everyone thinking about whether or not they could retire. This "bust" likely confirms that. The key lesson is that what you do is up to you - waiting for the government or others to do it for you just does not work. So look at your options and start to think about the changes you can make to create the best possible future for you.
