Generations. I was reminded
yesterday as to the distance between generations and yet the similarities
that do exist. My grandson is becoming quite a little tennis player.
(He is 9) He has been playing all winter (one of the Bermuda advantages)
and has been improving all of the time. He has wanted to play with
me so yesterday, after not having a racquet in hand for about ten
years, we went to a local hotel and played for an hour. Although
many years separate us the joy of hitting the ball and playing a
match was wonderful. We had a great time and had lunch together
before the match. I look forward to being able to do this regularly.
Sharing time with your grandchildren is terrific.
Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. They seem
not to notice us, hovering, averting our eyes, and they seldom offer
thanks, but what we do for them is never wasted.
